The mebloJOGI historical timeline
The first Jogi mattress
The early 1960s marked and clearly defined the path of the Jogi brand. By the end of 1961, the first Jogi mattresses with Bonell spring cores were produced. Regular production began in 1962. At that time, we named the new mattresses “jogi®” and chose the fakir (jogi) logo to represent the brand. As the brand’s recognition and reputation grew, the term “jogi” became widely used by the public as a generic name for mattresses.
Opening of the new Jogi factory
In the early 1970s, a new production hall was built as a reconstruction of the previous one at the same location. The new factory was equipped with the latest mattress production lines. By that time, the two-millionth Jogi mattress had already been produced.
One year of the jogi bed
The company marked one year since launching the jogi bed, a new and modern product on the market. The jogi bed brought certain changes and habits to people’s lifestyles. Its revolutionary dual spring design from that time has endured to this day, now better known as the “box spring.”
Design of the round bed
At the customer’s request, a prototype of a round bed was made and displayed at Meblo’s showroom in Nova Gorica. The bed had a diameter of 2.5 meters and was valued at 300,000 dinars (approximately €3,500 in today’s terms). They realized that such innovative designs for beds and mattresses had been underutilized, as the round bed generated considerable interest among consumers.
Transition from traditional to pocket spring mattress technology
Traditional Bonell spring mattresses are made from springs connected to each other with a spiral wire. A Bonell core mattress adapts to the body over a wider surface rather than at individual points, which is why it is generally perceived as firmer. The introduction of pocket springs marked a significant breakthrough in mattress comfort. Pocket spring mattresses adapt to the body point by point, allowing the spine to maintain its natural alignment while the body’s muscles relax.
The establishment of the mebloJOGI® brand and the refreshed logo design
The JOGI® and Meblo® brands have existed since the early 1960s, when the company produced its first spring mattress. Since 2009, the combined mebloJOGI® brand has been used, representing Meblo’s long-standing expertise, experience, tradition, and know-how. Alongside this, a new, modernized logo was designed to align with current marketing trends. Today, mebloJOGI® is an established brand that enhances the recognition of our sleep products even further.
mebloJOGI® Nirvana mattress wins prestigious award
In 2008, our most prestigious mattress, the mebloJOGI® Nirvana, received the award for Best Product Design at the Ljubljana Furniture Fair. Even today, it remains our Top of the Top product. Its distinction lies in the carefully selected, exceptionally high-quality materials.
Recipients of the AAA business excellence certificate since 2015
The Bisnode Creditworthiness Certificate is a widely recognized indicator of above-average business performance. It reflects a company’s financial success, sustainability, and stability, confirming a consistent track record of flawless operations, reliability, and exemplary payment discipline. In 2015, we were awarded the Gold Creditworthiness Certificate, which we later upgraded to the Platinum Certificate in the following years.
Modernization and automation of the production line
In 2017, we upgraded and automated our mattress production process through a new investment in machinery. This modernization enables us to produce even higher-quality mattresses, increases our production capacity, and improves the overall efficiency of our operations.
Digital transformation of the company
Based on a successful P4D grant for digital transformation, we committed to a comprehensive digital shift across all production processes and departments. The project’s goals include the digitalization of production, enhancement of employees’ digital skills, and the upgrade of management and quality assurance systems. The primary objective is to align with the principles of the digital economy, with a strong focus on improving the customer experience through the implementation of Industry 4.0 and the development of digital workplaces.

Ambassadors
Dejan Vinčič and the DV9 Volleyball School
In the 2025/2026 season, we entered into a partnership with Dejan Vinčić, one of Slovenia’s most recognisable volleyball players, and his DV9 Volleyball School. Dejan played an important role in some of the greatest achievements of Slovenian volleyball and was part of the golden generation that secured Slovenia’s historic qualification for the Olympic Games. Dejan and mebloJOGI® share many common values, which is why we were delighted to welcome him and his volleyball school into our family of good sleep ambassadors. Dejan also became an ambassador for the mebloJOGI® Quantum Natur mattress.
Neneh Sillah
Promising Slovenian international Neneh Sillah is a mebloJOGI® good sleep ambassador and ambassador for the mebloJOGI® Quantum Air mattress. In the 2025/2026 season, she joined Italian powerhouse Imoco Volley Conegliano, one of the most successful women’s volleyball clubs in the world. In her first season in Italy, she won both the Italian Championship and the Italian Cup with the team and was also named MVP (Most Valuable Player) on several occasions. Following her excellent performances, the club extended its partnership with her for the 2026/2027 season.
Jerica Jesenko
Jerica Jesenko is a Slovenian ski jumper and a member of the Slovenian national team. She is a promising young athlete who continues to build her sporting career through determination, dedication and clearly defined goals. In recent seasons, Jerica has achieved several excellent results in junior competitions and has also successfully competed in Continental Cup events. In the 2025/2026 season, she became a mebloJOGI® Good Sleep Ambassador. For quality sleep and effective recovery, she chose the Perla+ mattress, becoming its ambassador as well.
Ana Bucik
Ana joined the mebloJOGI® “sports family” in 2020 and became an ambassador for the mebloJOGI® Perla+ mattress. The alpine skier and long-standing member of the Slovenian national ski team achieved numerous excellent World Cup results throughout her career and established herself as one of the most successful Slovenian skiers of her generation.
Tadej Pogačar
World-class cyclist Tadej Pogačar has also joined our team of good sleep ambassadors. Tadej is our brand ambassador for the mebloJOGI® Platinum Cool mattress. As a member of UAE Team Emirates-XRG, he continues to set new standards of excellence in professional cycling. He is a four-time winner of the Tour de France, winner of the Giro d’Italia, a two-time road race world champion and the winner of numerous prestigious one-day classics, including Liège–Bastogne–Liège, the Tour of Flanders, Strade Bianche and the Giro di Lombardia. In 2021, he also won an Olympic bronze medal in the road race at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Through his achievements, dedication and professional approach, he is regarded as one of the greatest cyclists of his generation and one of the leading names in international sport.
Jan Polanc
Jan Polanc is an ambassador for the mebloJOGI® Woody Balance mattress. The former Slovenian professional cyclist spent most of his career competing for teams at the highest level of international cycling, including UAE Team Emirates. Throughout his successful career, he achieved numerous notable results, with two stage victories at the prestigious Giro d’Italia standing out among his greatest accomplishments. In 2023, he ended his professional sporting career due to health issues, but he remains an important part of Slovenian cycling history and an example of dedication, perseverance and sporting spirit.
Anej Doplihar
Successful para-cyclist Anej Doplihar is a mebloJOGI® good sleep ambassador and a member of the mebloJOGI Cycling Team. His achievements include competing at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, where he recorded the best Slovenian result among the country’s para-cyclists. His greatest career achievements also include becoming European champion in the road race, European runner-up in the time trial, winning a silver medal in the road race at the World Championships and achieving several top finishes at World Championship events. Through his perseverance, dedication and sporting spirit, he inspires many athletes and proves that outstanding results can be achieved even after the most difficult challenges.
Kristjan Hočevar
Kristjan Hočevar is the ambassador of our high-quality mattress mebloJOGI® Perla+. The former Slovenian cyclist won the white jersey as the best young rider at the 2021 Tour of Slovenia. For his achievements, he also received the prestigious Golden Bicycle Award as Slovenia’s best cyclist in the under-23 category.
Dejan Fabčič
Dr. Dejan Fabčič is a specialist in internal medicine and an exceptionally ambitious athlete. Alongside his medical career, he has developed a remarkable sports career, having competed in three different disciplines at the Paralympic Games (kayaking, swimming, and archery). He won a bronze medal in mixed team recurve archery at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, marking Slovenia’s first Paralympic medal in this sport. Dejan is a mebloJOGI® good sleep ambassador for our most prestigious mattress, mebloJOGI® Nirvana.
Tamara Zidanšek
One of Slovenia’s leading tennis players, Tamara Zidanšek, is a proud member of the mebloJOGI® family of good sleep ambassadors. The Platinum Cool mattress supports her quality sleep and recovery. Tamara reached an important milestone for Slovenian tennis by advancing to the semi-finals of the prestigious Roland Garros tournament in Paris. During her career, she also won a WTA tournament in Lausanne and climbed to 22nd place in the world rankings. Through her exceptional composure, perseverance and ability to overcome the most challenging moments in her matches, she achieved one of the greatest successes in the history of Slovenian tennis.
Lora Roglič Klinc
Lora is a writer and the wife of elite cyclist Primož Roglič. The Roglič family spends most of the year traveling, sleeping in motorhomes, apartments, and hotels. That is why the feeling of home becomes especially valuable when they return to their own bed after demanding journeys. As they strive for excellence in all aspects of life, choosing an exceptionally high-quality bed, mattress, and pillow is a natural decision. In sports, business, and family life, rest is essential for achieving daily goals.
Samo Masleša
Samo Masleša, PhD in kinesiology and founder of GSMP, is an expert in human movement and understands that optimal post-exercise recovery is essential for achieving a high level of physical performance. The rapid and comprehensive intake and processing of information, followed by the selection of the most appropriate movement solution, require a well-functioning central nervous system. One of the essential foundations that makes this possible is quality sleep as a form of effective and restorative rest.
Manca Špik
Manca Špik is a popular Slovenian singer who has been inspiring audiences and creating successful musical stories for many years. She turned to mebloJOGI® due to sleep difficulties and back pain and chose the mebloJOGI® Woody Balance mattress, featuring copper-infused latex that provides soothing support and helps prevent overheating during the night.
Martina Švab
Martina Švab is a popular radio host, singer, entrepreneur, and proud holder of the Femme Fatale 2024 title. Anja is a radio host who understands the importance of good sleep better than most people. Her role requires her to be energetic, focused, and able to communicate with her audience in a clear and engaging way every day. mebloJOGI® Pro-Concrete Cycling Club
The Nova Gorica-based mebloJOGI® Pro-Concrete Cycling Club boasts more than 40 years of tradition, numerous sporting achievements and dedicated work with young cyclists. By developing young talent and promoting perseverance and a passion for sport, the club makes an important contribution to Slovenian cycling. The club’s cyclists are also good sleep ambassadors who raise awareness of the importance of quality rest and recovery for health, well-being and athletic performance.
Handball Club Celje Pivovarna Laško
The Celje handball team joined the mebloJOGI® ambassadors of good sleep in the 2023/2024 season. With over 70 years of history, the club understands the importance of quality sleep and recovery for its members in achieving top results on the court. Upon establishing the partnership, mebloJOGI® was declared the Official mattress of the club. In addition, the team proudly represents the Quantum Sport Re-Generate mattress as its ambassador. With its rich history and numerous achievements, the club has ranked among the leading names in Slovenian handball for decades. In the 2025/2026 season, the team won both the national championship and the Slovenian Cup and secured its return to Europe’s elite in the EHF Champions League.
GEN-I Volley Women’s Volleyball Club
In the 2023/2024 season, we began our partnership with the GEN-I Volley Women’s Volleyball Club and became the club’s Official Bedding Partner. GEN-I Volley is one of Slovenia’s most prominent women’s volleyball clubs and boasts more than 50 years of tradition, numerous domestic trophies and appearances in international competitions. The club’s greatest achievements include winning the Middle European League, three Slovenian national championship titles and four Slovenian Cup victories. In the 2025/2026 season, we were also proud to become the official supporter of the club’s older girls’ team, which competed under the name GEN-I_mebloJOGI®.
Tadeja Pavlič
Tadeja is a dancer and the winner of the Slovenian version of Dancing with the Stars in 2017. She chose to collaborate with mebloJOGI® because she understands the importance of quality sleep and recovery in achieving outstanding results. Due to her demanding training schedule, performances and competitions, proper support for her body is especially important. For quality sleep, she chose the Merlin bed and the Woody Balance mattress.
Mara Rogelja
Mara is an artist, singer, and graphic designer. While renovating their child’s bedroom, she and her partner chose a new mattress for their daughter, as quality sleep during parenthood is essential for the well-being and health of both parents and children. This demanding period brings new responsibilities, changes in daily routines, and feelings of fatigue, making the right bed especially important. RehabStudio | BrezBolečin is a modern physiotherapy and kinesiology studio dedicated to helping individuals achieve pain-free movement, greater physical stability and improved well-being. In their daily work, they regularly support people dealing with back, neck, and shoulder pain, giving them a deep understanding of the important role quality sleep plays in recovery and long-term health. Because of the close connection between sleep, recovery, and pain relief, they have become our professional partner. Together, we strive to raise awareness about the importance of choosing the right mattress and pillow, while providing individuals with comprehensive solutions for improved well-being and reduced pain.
Rok Rener
Rok is a kinesiologist and sports therapist. In his work, he deals with people who experience pain in the cervical and lumbar regions of the spine, which further highlights the importance of choosing the right pillow and mattress for quality sleep.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Matevž Topolovec
For professional advice and assistance in counseling our clients, we turned to Associate Professor Dr. Matevž Topolovec, a specialist in orthopedic surgery from the private medical practice Toportho. Dr. Topolovec stated that he regularly advises his patients to sleep in a way that allows the spine to maintain its natural S-shaped curvature. He also adds that the choice of mattress should be adjusted according to the predominant sleeping position and body weight.
