The mebloJOGI historical timeline
The first Jogi mattress
The early 1960s marked and clearly defined the path of the Jogi brand. By the end of 1961, the first Jogi mattresses with Bonell spring cores were produced. Regular production began in 1962. At that time, we named the new mattresses “jogi®” and chose the fakir (jogi) logo to represent the brand. As the brand’s recognition and reputation grew, the term “jogi” became widely used by the public as a generic name for mattresses.
Opening of the new Jogi factory
In the early 1970s, a new production hall was built as a reconstruction of the previous one at the same location. The new factory was equipped with the latest mattress production lines. By that time, the two-millionth Jogi mattress had already been produced.
One year of the jogi bed
The company marked one year since launching the jogi bed, a new and modern product on the market. The jogi bed brought certain changes and habits to people’s lifestyles. Its revolutionary dual spring design from that time has endured to this day, now better known as the “box spring.”
Design of the round bed
At the customer’s request, a prototype of a round bed was made and displayed at Meblo’s showroom in Nova Gorica. The bed had a diameter of 2.5 meters and was valued at 300,000 dinars (approximately €3,500 in today’s terms). They realized that such innovative designs for beds and mattresses had been underutilized, as the round bed generated considerable interest among consumers.
Transition from traditional to pocket spring mattress technology
Traditional Bonell spring mattresses are made from springs connected to each other with a spiral wire. A Bonell core mattress adapts to the body over a wider surface rather than at individual points, which is why it is generally perceived as firmer. The introduction of pocket springs marked a significant breakthrough in mattress comfort. Pocket spring mattresses adapt to the body point by point, allowing the spine to maintain its natural alignment while the body’s muscles relax.
The establishment of the mebloJOGI® brand and the refreshed logo design
The JOGI® and Meblo® brands have existed since the early 1960s, when the company produced its first spring mattress. Since 2009, the combined mebloJOGI® brand has been used, representing Meblo’s long-standing expertise, experience, tradition, and know-how. Alongside this, a new, modernized logo was designed to align with current marketing trends. Today, mebloJOGI® is an established brand that enhances the recognition of our sleep products even further.
mebloJOGI® Nirvana mattress wins prestigious award
In 2008, our most prestigious mattress, the mebloJOGI® Nirvana, received the award for Best Product Design at the Ljubljana Furniture Fair. Even today, it remains our Top of the Top product. Its distinction lies in the carefully selected, exceptionally high-quality materials.
Recipients of the AAA business excellence certificate since 2015
The Bisnode Creditworthiness Certificate is a widely recognized indicator of above-average business performance. It reflects a company’s financial success, sustainability, and stability, confirming a consistent track record of flawless operations, reliability, and exemplary payment discipline. In 2015, we were awarded the Gold Creditworthiness Certificate, which we later upgraded to the Platinum Certificate in the following years.
Modernization and automation of the production line
In 2017, we upgraded and automated our mattress production process through a new investment in machinery. This modernization enables us to produce even higher-quality mattresses, increases our production capacity, and improves the overall efficiency of our operations.
Digital transformation of the company
Based on a successful P4D grant for digital transformation, we committed to a comprehensive digital shift across all production processes and departments. The project’s goals include the digitalization of production, enhancement of employees’ digital skills, and the upgrade of management and quality assurance systems. The primary objective is to align with the principles of the digital economy, with a strong focus on improving the customer experience through the implementation of Industry 4.0 and the development of digital workplaces.

Ambassadors
Dejan Vinčič and the DV9 Volleyball School
In the 2025/2026 season, we have entered into a partnership with Dejan Vinčič, one of the most renowned Slovenian volleyball players, and his DV9 Volleyball School. Dejan has played a key role in some of the greatest achievements of Slovenian volleyball and was part of the golden generation that earned a historic qualification for the Olympic Games. We share many core values with Dejan, which is why at mebloJOGI® we were delighted to welcome him and his volleyball school into our family of good sleep ambassadors. Dejan also became an ambassador of the mebloJOGI® Quantum Natur mattress.
Neneh Sillah
The promising volleyball player Neneh Sillah has become the mebloJOGI® ambassador of good sleep and ambassador of the mebloJOGI® Quantum Air mattress. She represents the Slovenian national volleyball team. In the 2025/2026 season, she joined Imoco Volley Conegliano – one of the strongest and most internationally recognized women’s volleyball clubs.
Jerica Jesenko
Jerica Jesenko is a Slovenian ski jumper and a member of the Slovenian national team. She is a promising young athlete who is steadily building her sporting career with determination, a strong drive for improvement, and clearly defined goals. In the 2025/2026 season, she became a mebloJOGI® ambassador of good sleep. For quality sleep and effective recovery, she chose the Perla+ mattress, becoming its ambassador as well.
Ana Bucik
Ana became part of the mebloJOGI® “sports family” in 2020 and is the ambassador of the mebloJOGI® Perla+ mattress. In September 2020, we entered into a sponsorship partnership with the alpine skier and member of the Slovenian national ski team. In addition to traditional sponsorship, Ana is also involved in consulting on sleep-related topics for athletes.
Tadej Pogačar
Top cyclist Tadej Pogačar has also joined our team of good sleep ambassadors. Tadej is the brand ambassador for the mebloJOGI® Platinum Cool mattress. Riding for UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates, he continues to define excellence in cycling. He is a four-time winner of the Tour de France, has won several one-day Monuments (including Liège–Bastogne–Liège, the Tour of Flanders, and Strade Bianche), and earned a bronze Olympic medal in the men’s road race at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. In 2024, he also became the world champion in the road race. He is currently regarded as the best cyclist in the world.
Jan Polanc
Another excellent and dedicated cyclist, Jan Polanc, is an ambassador for our mebloJOGI® Woody Balance mattress. Jan is a Slovenian professional cyclist who ended his career due to health issues. He was a member of the UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates and is a two-time stage winner of the Giro d’Italia.
Anej Doplihar
Successful para-cyclist Anej Doplihar is a mebloJOGI® ambassador of good sleep and a member of the mebloJOGI Cycling Team. A former motocross rider from Dornberk, Anej continued his athletic career in para-cycling after a severe spinal injury. His achievements include representing Slovenia at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, where he secured the best Slovenian result, and a 4th place finish at the World Championships in Switzerland.
Kristjan Hočevar
Young cyclist Kristjan Hočevar is the ambassador of our high-quality mattress mebloJOGI® Perla+. At the 2021 Tour of Slovenia, Kristjan won the white jersey, earning the title of the best young rider of the race. He also received the prestigious Golden Bike award for his outstanding cycling achievement.
Dejan Fabčič
Dr. Dejan Fabčič is a specialist in internal medicine and an exceptionally ambitious athlete. Alongside his medical career, he has developed a remarkable sports career, having competed in three different disciplines at the Paralympic Games (kayaking, swimming, and archery). He won a bronze medal in mixed team recurve archery at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, marking Slovenia’s first Paralympic medal in this sport. Dejan is an ambassador of good sleep for our most prestigious mattress, mebloJOGI® Nirvana.
Tamara Zidanšek
Slovenia’s top tennis player, Tamara Zidanšek, has joined the mebloJOGI® family as an ambassador of good sleep. Her quality sleep and recovery are supported by the Platinum Cool mattress. Tamara made history for Slovenian tennis by reaching the semifinals of the prestigious Roland Garros in Paris. By maintaining incredible composure and successfully managing the toughest moments in her matches, she secured the greatest achievement for Slovenian tennis since its independence.
Lora Roglič Klinc
Lora is a writer and the wife of elite cyclist Primož Roglič. The Roglič family spends most of the year traveling, sleeping in motorhomes, apartments, and hotels. That is why the feeling of home becomes especially valuable when they return to their own bed after demanding journeys. As they strive for excellence in all aspects of life, choosing an exceptionally high-quality bed, mattress, and pillow is a natural decision. In sports, business, and family life, rest is essential for achieving daily goals.
Samo Masleša
Dr. of Kinesiology and founder of GSMP, Samo Masleša, as an expert in the field of human movement, is well aware that achieving high movement efficiency requires optimal post-exercise recovery. Fast and comprehensive reception and processing of information, and ultimately the selection of the most appropriate movement solutions, require a well-functioning central nervous system. A crucial prerequisite that enables this is quality sleep, as a form of effective and restorative rest.
Manca Špik
At mebloJOGI®, we are delighted to collaborate with Manca Špik, a popular singer who has been creating successful hits and heartfelt ballads for many years, captivating audiences across the Slovenian music scene. Manca turned to mebloJOGI® due to everyday sleep difficulties and back pain. She chose the mebloJOGI® Woody Balance mattress, which, thanks to latex enriched with copper, gently alleviates discomfort and helps prevent overheating during the night.
Martina Švab
Martina Švab is a popular radio host, singer, entrepreneur, and proud holder of the Femme Fatale 2024 title. That’s why she proudly became a mebloJOGI® ambassador of good sleep. Cycling Club mebloJOGI® Pro-Concrete
The cycling club mebloJOGI® Pro-Concrete from Nova Gorica is undoubtedly one of the successful and passionate institutions in Slovenian cycling. With its 40-year tradition, commitment to developing young competitors, and passion for the sport, the club has become synonymous with success. The cyclists, as ambassadors of good sleep, are individuals who promote and raise awareness about the importance of quality sleep for health and well-being.
Handball Club Celje Pivovarna Laško
The Celje handball team joined the mebloJOGI® ambassadors of good sleep in the 2023/2024 season. With over 70 years of history, the club understands the importance of quality sleep and recovery for its members in achieving top results on the court. Upon establishing the partnership, mebloJOGI® was declared the Official mattress of the club. In addition, the team proudly represents the Quantum Sport Re-Generate mattress as its ambassador.
Women’s volleyball club GEN-I Volley
At mebloJOGI®, we proudly and wholeheartedly support the women’s volleyball club Gen-i Volley as sponsors. For the third consecutive season, we remain the Official mattress of the club. Together with the players, who serve as ambassadors of good sleep, we promote and raise awareness about the importance of quality sleep for health and well-being. In the 2025/2026 season, we are proud to have become the official supporter of the junior girls’ team, which now competes under its new name, GEN-I_mebloJOGI®.
Tadeja Pavlič
Tadeja is a dancer and the winner of the Slovenian version of Dancing with the Stars in 2017. She chose to collaborate with mebloJOGI® because of her professional athletic career, in which quality sleep and optimal recovery play a crucial role. Due to demanding training sessions, performances, and competitions, proper body support is especially important to her. For high-quality sleep, she chose the Merlin bed and the Woody Balance mattress.
Mara Rogelja
Mara is an artist, singer, and graphic designer. While renovating their child’s bedroom, she and her partner chose a new mattress for their daughter, as quality sleep during parenthood is essential for the well-being and health of both parents and children. This demanding period brings new responsibilities, changes in daily routines, and feelings of fatigue, making the right bed especially important. Mara chose the Oaza mattress and the Comfort slatted bed base for her daughter.
Rok Rener
Rok is a kinesiologist and sports therapist. In his work, he deals with people who experience pain in the cervical and lumbar regions of the spine, which further confirms the fact that choosing the right pillow and mattress is very important for quality sleep.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Matevž Topolovec
For professional advice and assistance in counseling our clients, we turned to Associate Professor Dr. Matevž Topolovec, a specialist in orthopedic surgery from the private medical practice Toportho. Dr. Topolovec stated that he regularly advises his patients to sleep in a way that allows the spine to maintain its natural S-shaped curvature. He also adds that the choice of mattress should be adjusted according to the predominant sleeping position and body weight.
